Antique Thai Wooden Pier Post On Metal Stand
Naturally-weathered driftwood pier posts add a sculptural, organically architectural element to a room. These antique objects were found on an expedition to Thailand, and now, placed on a custom iron stand, make for beautiful pieces of artwork for any environment.
So much of Thai culture and history is based on water. From the plethora of riverside piers used in trading, fishing, and the transport of goods to oceanside piers utilized in traditional local fishing practices, the pier post is symbolically foundational to Thai life.
There is no greater sculptor than time and nature, and centuries of tidal push and pull have given us these exceptionally unique objects as artwork. This particular object has a robust form, measuring 48" high, 8" wide and 8" deep, and has a lovely dusty caramel coloring. Placed thoughtfully in any space, these sculptures act not only as artwork, but also as fodder for conversation.
